Basketball Recap: El Modena Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

There's no place like home for El Modena, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the Mission Viejo Diablos by a score of 38-28 on Saturday. The 38-point effort marked the Vanguards' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mission Viejo lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Savanna Whitesides, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Whitesides has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sofia Gozzo, who posted five points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

As for Mission Viejo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-14 win against Santiago on the 10th.
