Softball Recap: Mediapolis Takes a Loss

After flying high against West Burlington on Thursday, Mediapolis came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell 4-1 to the Wapello Indians on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Mediapolis' defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Wapello, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Mediapolis will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Davis County at 5:30 p.m. on July 8. As for Wapello, they will head out on the road to take on WACO on Monday. The Indians are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
