Basketball Recap: Uniontown Wins Going Away Against Carmichaels

Uniontown's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 48-22 margin over the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes. The match marked the Red Raiders' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Uniontown can attribute much of their success to Emily Myers, who posted 12 points. Disaya Craggette was another key player, putting up nine points.

Despite the defeat, Carmichaels saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Voithofer had ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for Voithofer. Another player making a difference was Kelani Chun, who put up five points.

The win got Uniontown back to even at 4-4. As for Carmichaels, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Uniontown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-32 defeat against Waynesburg Central on the 28th. As for Carmichaels, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 35-24 loss against Jefferson-Morgan on the 28th.
