Basketball Recap: Mcfarland Piles Up the Points Against Kennedy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Taft, McFarland was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They breezed by the Kennedy Thunderbirds to the tune of 54-19. The matchup marked the Cougars' most dominant win of the season.

McFarland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jocelyn Vallejos led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Samaniego, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

McFarland moved to 7-13 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Kennedy, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the McFarland Cougars duke it out with the Delano Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kennedy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Shafter at 6:30 p.m.
