Melbourne waltzed into their game on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 55-43 victory over the Izard County Cougars. The Bearkatz have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Melbourne's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Izard County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Melbourne will be home for the holidays to greet Alpena at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bearkatz will be up against the Leopards' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.53 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Izard County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cedar Ridge at 6:00 p.m.
