Preview: Legacy vs. Fargo Davies Eagles
The Legacy will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Fargo Davies Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Legacy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Legacy ended up a good deal behind St. Mary's Central and lost 38-21.
Despite their loss, Legacy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Connor Lang, who rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all.
Meanwhile, Fargo Davies faced Century in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fargo Davies was the clear victor by a 28-7 margin over Century. The result was nothing new for Fargo Davies, who have now won three contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Zach Lilly was his usual excellent self, rushing for 84 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Malachi Werremeyer and his 80 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Fargo Davies' victory.
Legacy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. As for Fargo Davies, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4.
Legacy was dealt a bruising 35-7 loss at the hands of Fargo Davies when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Legacy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
