Football Game Preview: Harlem Huskies vs. Freeport Pretzels + How To Watch

Harlem has gone 8-2 against Freeport recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Huskies will challenge the Pretzels at 7:15 p.m. Harlem's defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so Freeport's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Harlem easily dispatched Jefferson last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Huskies fell just short of Guilford by a score of 31-28 on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Huskies, who until this game were averaging ten points allowed.

Despite the loss, Harlem got top-tier performance from La'Darrius Foster, who rushed for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Dwayne Broom helped out on the ground, rushing for 95 yards.

Meanwhile, Freeport played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Hononegah 38-8. Having soared to a lofty 50 points in the game before, the Pretzels couldn't push the score so high this time.

Freeport's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-2. As for Harlem, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Harlem couldn't quite get it done against Freeport when the teams last played back in October of 2024 as they fell 22-14. Thankfully for the Huskies, Cameron Verner (who rushed for 159 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
