Preview: Liberty Ranch Hawks vs. Rocklin Thunder
Liberty Ranch has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Rocklin Thunder at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Monday, Liberty Ranch was fully in charge, breezing past Amador 57-27 at home. Given Liberty Ranch's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while Amador is ranked 728th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Liberty Ranch found their leader in underclassman Haley Smith, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. The match was Smith's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Felix, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Rocklin entered their tilt with Pitman with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went Rocklin's way against Pitman on Monday as Rocklin made off with a 57-33 win.
Liberty Ranch's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Rocklin, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
