Baseball Recap: Marmion Find Success

Marmion and De La Salle pushed the score to 10-9 the last time they played De La Salle, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Cadets walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Meteors. That's more bragging rights for the Cadets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Yates, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Brady King also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Marmion hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.

Marmion's record now sits at 6-8. As for De La Salle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: De La Salle beat Marmion by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday.
