Football Recap: St. Edward's Takes a Loss

St. Edward came into this matchup off a tough 46-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Pine Crest Panthers by a score of 15-12 on Thursday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Dylan Colontrelle threw for 121 yards and a pair of TDs. Connor O'Brien was his top target, picking up 99 receiving yards and two scores.

Pine Crest can attribute much of their success to Zach Moss, who rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Those 118 rushing yards gave Moss a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Edward's and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Pine Crest, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, St. Edward's will challenge Okeechobee at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Pine Crest, they will face off against Westminster Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
