Basketball Recap: Freedom Area Skates Past Monessen with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freedom Area). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 59-26 victory over the Monessen Greyhounds. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Freedom Area's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for Monessen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freedom Area will host Shenango at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monessen, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against West Greene at 7:00 p.m.
