Soccer Game Preview: Escondido Charter vs. Valley Center

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Escondido Charter duke it out with the Valley Center at 6:00 p.m. on Friday... Escondido Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Escondido Charter is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Canyon Hills on Wednesday. Neither Escondido Charter nor Canyon Hills could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Abigail Gilbertson and Natalie Lewis scored all three of Escondido Charter's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Valley Center, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Orange Glen with a sharp 8-0 victory on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Jaguars needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.

Valley Center now has a winning record of 2-1. With that draw, Escondido Charter's record moves to 4-2-1.

Escondido Charter came up short against Valley Center when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Escondido Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
