Basketball Recap: La Jolla Country Day Comes Up Short

La Jolla Country Day and Brentwood School squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but La Jolla Country Day had to settle for second. They fell 74-63 to the Brentwood School Eagles. The Torreys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why La Jolla Country Day lost, don't look at Mei-Ling Perry. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. Perry has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mahlia Washington, who shot 56% from the field en route to 15 points.

Brentwood School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Scott, who went 7-for-8 to rack up 16 points along with seven boards and six blocks. That's the most blocks Scott has posted since back in January. Lev Feiman was another key player, shooting 54% from the field on her way to 19 points and five steals.

La Jolla Country Day's loss dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Brentwood School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season.

La Jolla Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brentwood School, they will face off against Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brentwood School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65 points per game this season.
