Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). They snuck past the St. Mary's Rams with a 77-73 win on Tuesday. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 54-41 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why St. Mary's lost, don't look at Evelini Smith. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds. Smith is becoming a predictor of St. Mary's success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 8-9 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Amani Rafiq, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 18 points and four steals.

Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for St. Mary's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

Lincoln will take on West at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Lincoln is facing West at the right time seeing as West is stuck on a three-game losing streak. St. Mary's has already played their next contest, a 78-50 defeat against Carondelet on the 25th.
