The Gulf Buccaneers will take on the Fivay Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Gulf had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Countryside on Friday. The Buccaneers blew past the Cougars 34-14. The result was nothing new for the Buccaneers, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Gulf's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Curtis Scriven, who threw for 147 yards and three touchdowns, and Kavion Brown, who rushed for 131 yards and a pair of TDs. Brown also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Buccaneers are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Fivay entered their tilt with Pasco on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They claimed a resounding 55-20 victory over the Pirates. The Falcons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Gulf better keep an eye on Demarquez Holloman. He was instrumental in Fivay's win, rushing for 170 yards and four scores on only eight carries. Those 170 rushing yards gave Holloman a new career-high. Tre Larry also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Fivay's run defense was locked in: Pasco could only muster 1.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Kaiden Green for the heroic effort on defense: he. Fivay didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 14.1.
Fivay didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Larry and Clarence Walker. Larry got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Gulf now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Fivay, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
