Basketball Recap: Ellwood City Falls Short of Karns City in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ellwood City can now relate to. They fell 44-31 to the Karns City Gremlins on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wolverine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Gremlins are ranked 104th).

Despite the loss, Ellwood City still got an impressive performance from Delaney Sturgeon, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Ellwood City is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-11. As for Karns City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Ellwood City nor Karns City have any future games scheduled.
