Baseball Game Preview: Covenant Academy Rams vs. Crisp Academy Wildcats

The Covenant Academy Rams will head out to face off against the Crisp Academy Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Covenant Academy will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Thomas Jefferson Academy, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Covenant Academy came out on top against Thomas Jefferson Academy by a score of 6-1 on Friday.

Seth Daugherty was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Covenant Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Landon Sneed also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Covenant Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Crisp Academy hadn't done well against Fullington Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Crisp Academy was the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over Fullington Academy. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

The win got Crisp Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Covenant Academy, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-4.

Covenant Academy took their win against Crisp Academy in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Covenant Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
