Poly proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Corona Panthers. Give Poly's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Poly's record now sits at 9-0. As for Corona, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poly will be home for the holidays to greet Valley View at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Poly's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Corona, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Don Lugo at 6:00 p.m.
