Soccer Game Preview: Kern Valley vs. Rosamond

The Kern Valley Broncs will square off against the Rosamond Roadrunners at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kern Valley has three straight wins, Rosamond has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Kern Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Frazier Mountain an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. It was an even better day for Alexandra Armes as she scored five goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Rosamond fell victim to Bishop Union and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Broncos, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Roadrunners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 935th, while the Broncos are ranked 227th).

Rosamond's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 4-11-1. As for Kern Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1.

Everything went Kern Valley's way against Rosamond when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Kern Valley made off with a 4-1 win. Does Kern Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rosamond turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
