Baseball Recap: Hercules Comes Up Short

Hercules was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dougherty Valley Wildcats.

William Hobbs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cameron Solis, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Hercules' loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dougherty Valley, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2.

Hercules didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against St. Patrick-St. Vincent on the 1st. As for Dougherty Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against San Leandro on the 4th.
