North Murray is a perfect 3-0 against North Cobb Christian since August of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mountaineers will venture away from home to square off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, North Murray didn't have quite enough to beat Murray County and fell 3-2.

Chanley Langham was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Austynn Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, North Cobb Christian came up short against Rockmart on Tuesday, falling 12-4. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Cobb Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Tamborra, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

North Murray's record now sits at 10-16. As for North Cobb Christian, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

North Murray came out on top in a nail-biter against North Cobb Christian in their previous matchup back in August, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountaineers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
