Soccer Recap: Morro Bay Comes Up Short

Morro Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cabrillo Conquistadores. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Cabrillo this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on January 6th.

Morro Bay's goal came courtesy of Olivia Moreno, who's now up to 13 this season.

Morro Bay's loss dropped their record down to 4-10-2. As for Cabrillo, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-11-1.

Morro Bay has already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Coast Union on the 3rd. As for Cabrillo, they will head out on the road to challenge Lompoc at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
