Football Game Preview: Longview Lobos vs. Royse City Bulldogs

Two dominant signal callers in JOHNNY HAMILTON and Jamion Richardson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Longview Lobos will be playing at home against the Royse City Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Longview knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Royse City likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Longview and North Forney were almost perfectly matched up, but Longview suffered a 56-55 loss. The Lobos were up 21 in the second, but they couldn't quite seal the deal.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in HAMILTON and Legend Bey. Bey had a great game and rushed for 243 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.5 yards per carry. Meanwhile, HAMILTON was balling out in the loss, throwing for 373 yards and five TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Longview didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of DA'KAYDEN CARTER and LAWSON TUBB. TUBB is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. BRADLEY WILLIAMS was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles.

Meanwhile, Royse City fell victim to North Forney and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They were dealt a 47-0 defeat at the hands of the Falcons. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Royse City has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Longview, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Longview has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 184.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Royse City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 184.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Everything came up roses for Longview against Royse City in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 30-0 win. Do the Lobos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
