Basketball Recap: Maywood Academy Takes a Loss

Maywood Academy lost against Sotomayor back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Maywood Academy Nighthawks were dealt a 61-31 loss at the hands of the Sotomayor Wolves. The Nighthawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.

Maywood Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Sotomayor, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maywood Academy will challenge Elizabeth at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sotomayor, they will take on Marquez at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Marquez will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Sotomayor surely won't give up without a fight.
