Soccer Recap: Jonesboro Takes a Loss

Jonesboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Mt. Zion Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, Jonesboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 405th, while Mt. Zion are ranked 164th).

Jonesboro's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Mt. Zion, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Jonesboro will face off against Utopian Academy for the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jonesboro will be up against Utopian Academy for the Arts' rather soft defense (which has allowed 8.27 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Mt. Zion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
