Baseball Recap: Deerfield-Windsor Has No Trouble Against Schley County

Deerfield-Windsor made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Schley County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Knights blew past the Wildcats 8-1 on Tuesday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

David Hutchins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on nine hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brantley Michlig, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Daniel, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Deerfield-Windsor hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.

Deerfield-Windsor pushed their record up to 9-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Schley County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
