Softball Recap: Dodge County Has No Trouble Against Washington County

Dodge County never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Washington County on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Golden Hawks with a sharp 12-4 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Emily Jones spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Halle Lowery and Gabriella Robinson did most of the damage at the plate: Lowery went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Robinson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Lowery has posted since back in October of 2024. Braylee Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Dodge County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Washington County, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.
