Recap: Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans vs. Miami Vandals
The Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Miami, falling 67-6. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Gilbert Classical Academy has scored all season.
Miami's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tamia Pietila, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Pietila is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 17 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Demetria Dosela, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Gilbert Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Miami, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Arete Prep the next time they take the court. Gilbert Classical Academy will head out to face Arete Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Miami will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
