Preview: Shikellamy Braves vs. Selinsgrove Seals
Shikellamy is 9-1 against Selinsgrove since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Shikellamy Braves will be staying on the road to face off against the Selinsgrove Seals at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Shikellamy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Selinsgrove in Pennsylvania (Shikellamy is ranked 177th, while Selinsgrove is ranked 494th).
On Wednesday, Shikellamy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-35 to Lewisburg.
Meanwhile, Selinsgrove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They suffered a rough 50-25 loss at the hands of Jersey Shore. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Selinsgrove in their matchups with Jersey Shore: they've now lost five in a row.
Shikellamy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Selinsgrove, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Shikellamy strolled past Selinsgrove in their previous matchup on January 9th by a score of 43-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shikellamy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
