Softball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Chariton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chariton). Everything went their way against the Central Decatur Cardinals on Wednesday as they made off with a 24-5 win. Considering the Chargers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Chariton, bringing their record up to 14-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Central Decatur, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Chariton has already played their next contest, a 9-7 victory against Centerville on the 26th. Central Decatur has also already played their next game (against Mormon Trail), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
