Basketball Recap: Penn Cambria Comes Up Short

Penn Cambria suffered their biggest defeat since February 12, 2024 on Friday. They lost 79-53 to the Forest Hills Rangers. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Rangers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Penn Cambria lost, don't look at MaKenna McCoy. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points along with seven boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Avayah Lemaster, who posted nine points.

Even though they lost, Penn Cambria smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Forest Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aivah Maul, who went 8 for 16 on her way to 22 points and four steals. The match was Maul's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Paxtyn Pcola was another key player, going 6 of 10 en route to 17 points and five rebounds.

Penn Cambria's record is now 5-5. As for Forest Hills, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Penn Cambria has already played their next game, a 52-30 victory against Richland on the 13th. As for Forest Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-41 win against Somerset on the 15th.
