Basketball Recap: Nicole Leung Key Part of Team Effort in Storm Win

Mercersburg Academy lost to Perkiomen School back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Storm came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 60-53. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Storm's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Panthers are ranked 53rd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mercersburg Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nicole Leung, who posted 19 points. That's the most points Leung has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Mohr, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

Mercersburg Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Perkiomen School, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Mercersburg Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 78-45 win against Lake Forest Academy on the 7th. As for Perkiomen School, they have also already played their next matchup, a 55-44 defeat against Germantown Academy on the 10th.
