Softball Recap: Elkhorn Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lincoln Northwest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Elkhorn). They blew past the Lincoln Northwest Falcons 14-1 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Antlers, who have now won five games in a row.

Lexi Randles looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Crollard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Wragge, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Elkhorn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .739. They are 11-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Elkhorn's win bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Lincoln Northwest, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.

Coming up, Elkhorn will welcome Elkhorn North at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Antlers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Lincoln Northwest, they will face off against Buena Vista at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
