Volleyball Recap: Laguna Acoma Takes a Loss

Laguna Acoma came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Tohatchi Cougars, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in August.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 25-16.

Brianna Carrillo paced Laguna Acoma's offense, picking up eight kills. Carrillo got some help from Leila Lorenzo and her nine assists. Kalie Poncho controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Laguna Acoma dropped their record down to 6-4-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Tohatchi, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Laguna Acoma has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Rehoboth Christian on the 27th. As for Tohatchi, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Tuba City on the 27th.
