Football Recap: Spring-Ford Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Kaden Pickersgill and Jackson Wickersham

Spring-Ford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-17 heartbreaker at the hands of the Downingtown East Cougars. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 17-14 to the Cougars when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Spring-Ford's loss came despite strong showings from Jackson Wickersham and Kaden Pickersgill. Wickersham picked up 105 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Pickersgill threw for 257 yards and a pair of TDs. Wickersham showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 63 yards.

Spring-Ford's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Downingtown East, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring-Ford will challenge Downingtown West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Downingtown East, they will take on Boyertown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
