Nemaha Central extended their home winning streak to seven games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Carter Hajek. The Thunder strolled past the Chanute Blue Comets with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14 with plenty of help from Hajek, who rushed for 155 yards and three touchdowns. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last 13 times he's played.

Nemaha Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Chanute, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Nemaha Central will square off against Oskaloosa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunder will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Chanute, they will host Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
