Softball Recap: Thomson Comes Up Short

Thomson extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-6. They came up short against the Evans Knights, falling 17-0. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

As for Evans, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Evans' part, they got a massive performance out of Leila Salmond, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Salmond has snagged this season. Sophia Perez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Looking ahead, Thomson will be playing in front of their home fans against Josey at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Evans, they will head out to face off against Grovetown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
