Football Recap: Western Harnett Comes Up Short

Western Harnett extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-4. They were outmatched by the Lee County Yellow Jackets and fell 34-6. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Despite the loss, Western Harnett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Logan Kellam picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (6.0 for loss).

As for Lee County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Brandon Baldwin went supernova, rushing for 95 yards and three scores. MJ Sanders was in the mix too, providing Lee County with one touchdown.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Western Harnett is set to square off against their familiar foe Triton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lee County will face off against rival South Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Yellow Jackets 14.7, the Trojans 14) so any points scored will be well earned.
