Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carlinville). They breezed by the Southwestern Piasa Birds on the road to the tune of 40-0 on Friday. The Cavaliers pushed the score to 27-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Piasa Birds had little chance of recovering from.

Triston Thompson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and a touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended five passes. Ronald Laplante was in the mix too, providing Carlinville with a touchdown.

Carlinville wouldn't let Southwestern keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Caleb Robinson, Nate Dyer, and Dyer picked up one apiece.

The victory made it two in a row for Carlinville and bumps their season record up to 3-2. As for Southwestern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
