Steele Canyon skates past El Cajon Valley with ease

Recap: Steele Canyon Cougars vs. El Cajon Valley Braves

Make it ten blowout wins for the Steele Canyon Cougars this season. They really took it to El Cajon Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-20 win on the road. The victory was just what Steele Canyon needed coming off of a 61-28 defeat in their prior matchup.

Steele Canyon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Deanna Guerrero out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Guerrero has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Dana Dacurro was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Steele Canyon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for El Cajon Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

Steele Canyon on the road again on Thursday and play against Madison at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Madison will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. El Cajon Valley will take on Valhalla at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
