Softball Recap: Elkhorn North Falls Short Against Ranked Elkhorn South

Elkhorn North faced Elkhorn South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wolves fell 9-4 to the Storm. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 15-3 to the Storm when the teams met back in August of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Peyton Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run was her first of the season.

Elkhorn North's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Elkhorn South, their win bumped their record up to 19-10.

Coming up, Elkhorn North will square off against Gretna at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Wolves surely won't give up without a fight. As for Elkhorn South, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-3 loss against Elkhorn on the 2nd.
