Softball Recap: Bishop Neumann Takes Down Ranked Central City

Bishop Neumann faced Central City in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cavaliers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bison a 1-0 shutout. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Addison Sylliaasen, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Central City off the board. Sylliaasen has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop Neumann's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isabelle Stuhr, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Bishop Neumann's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Central City, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4.

Bishop Neumann has already played their next game, a 5-2 loss against Douglas County West on the 25th. As for Central City, they will welcome Southern/Diller-Odell at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
