The Big Walnut Golden Eagles will head out to challenge the Westland Cougars at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Big Walnut is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

Big Walnut can't be too worried about heading out to take on Westland: they just beat Worthington Christian at home, who had been dominant on their own pitch up to that point. The Golden Eagles beat the Warriors by a goal, winning 3-2.

Connor Huston and Holton Forman scored all three of Big Walnut's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, Westland lost 5-2 to Hayes on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Westland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Hayes are ranked 157th).

Big Walnut's win bumped their record up to 9-4-3. As for Westland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10-1 record this season.

Big Walnut took their victory against Westland in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
