Basketball Recap: Christel House Comes Up Short

Christel House was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Heritage Christian Eagles, falling 48-7. Christel House was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-4.

Heritage Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Riley Johnson, who went 5 for 7 en route to 11 points and four steals. That's the most steals Johnson has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Papineau, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 10 points and five boards.

Christel House's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Heritage Christian, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11.

Christel House will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Herron at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Heritage Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-60 defeat against Purdue Polytechnic on the 14th.
