Baseball Recap: Chattahoochee Takes a Loss

Chattahoochee lost against Gainesville last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Red Elephants by a score of 3-2. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

Andrew Gordon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chattahoochee saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Morris, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Chattahoochee's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Gainesville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-12.

Coming up, Chattahoochee will welcome St. Francis at 1:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Gainesville, they are taking a road trip to square off against Loganville at 2:00 p.m. on the 11th.
