Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Saugus walked away with it. They skirted past the Schurr Spartans 22-19. The win was familiar territory for the Centurions, who have now won five contests in a row.

Jake Nuttall was his usual excellent self, throwing for 285 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. Ty Hall handled things on the ground, rushing for 109 yards.

Saugus' victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Schurr, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Saugus will challenge Calabasas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Hall and Kayne Miller. Schurr does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
