Basketball Game Preview: Canoga Park Hunters vs. Van Nuys Wolves

Canoga Park hasn't had much luck against Van Nuys recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Canoga Park Hunters will welcome the Van Nuys Wolves at 4:30 p.m.

Canoga Park is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 58-7 loss at the hands of Sylmar. The contest marked the Hunters' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Van Nuys had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They really took it to the Pythons for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-19 victory. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 26 points or more this season.

Van Nuys' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Canoga Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Canoga Park took a serious blow against Van Nuys when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 60-10. Can Canoga Park avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
