Football Recap: Waverly Takes a Loss

Waverly extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They had to suffer through a 41-7 loss at the hands of the Portsmouth West Senators. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

As for Portsmouth West, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Anthony Bishop had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 137 yards. Bo Wroten was in the mix too, providing Portsmouth West with two scores.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Waverly will square off against rival Oak Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Portsmouth West is set to challenge their familiar foe Minford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
