Basketball Recap: Calaveras Red Hawks vs. Bret Harte Bullfrogs
The Calaveras Red Hawks won the last time they faced the Bret Harte Bullfrogs, and things went their way on Friday too. Calaveras came out on top against the Bullfrogs by a score of 41-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Calaveras.
Calaveras' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Izzy Tapia, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. Tapia has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ginger Scheidt, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Calaveras has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Bret Harte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.
Calaveras will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sonora focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Bret Harte, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amador will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.
