Softball Recap: Alva Has No Trouble Against Chisholm

Alva got themselves on the board against Chisholm on Friday, but Chisholm never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Longhorns. The victory continues a trend for the Goldbugs in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now won six in a row.

Trinity Stevens made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matchups.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cloe Lee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and eight RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Myka Louthan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Alva hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Alva's record now sits at 11-5. As for Chisholm, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Alva didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 win against Timberlake on the 29th. As for Chisholm, they will be playing at home against Ringwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
